Viswanath Venkat was born in a South Indian (Tamil) Brahman family on the 27th of February, 1934, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. After his basic education in Mumbai, he did his Mechanical Engineering from a well known College of Technology in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He did a post graduate course in Management.
He worked in various Engineering industries for a period of 40 years in different capacities. He worked for the Railways, BARC, Colgate Palmolive, 20 years in Cigarette Industry, etc. and many other small firms.
Due to his forthright nature he had to face 3 spells of unemployment during his 40 year career tenure. It was during these spells that he got attracted towards spiritual thoughts, and used to read books of contemporary spiritual masters like Swami Vivekanananda, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Eckhart Tolle, The Holy Bible, etc. to name a few. He used to listen to discourses of well known spiritual masters of the 60's and 70's.
His formal initiation into spirituality was done by his first Guru, the great Indian philosopher, speaker and writer, J.Krishnamurti, at the age of 30 years. Thus began his spiritual journey. Even as he pursued his house holder's life with his wife and 2 sons, he had the good fortune to be closely associated with quite a few well known contemporary spiritual masters, viz. Swami Poornanda, Swami Haridasgiri the famous Bhajan singer, Sri Satya Sai Baba, Swami Chinayananda of Chinmaya Mission, etc.
After resigning his job at the age of 55 years (to pursue the spiritual path full time), he did a 2 year Course in Vedanta in 1991 under Acharya Swami Chidananda of Chinmaya Mission, along with a colleague Mahendra Adhikari, (who later introduced him into the Shri Krishna Pranami Dharma). Later at the request of his colleague Mahendra Adhikari he joined him to study under Param Pujya Guruji Brahmaleen Deendayalji Maharaj, in Prannath Gnankendra, Borivali (west), Mumbai. During this period he studied Seva Puja, Atma Sopan, Virat, 5 kitabs from Tartam Vani, and one parikrama of Paramdham Rangmahal. After 4 years of study under him, at the advice of Param Pujya Guruji, in 1997, he joined Khijda Mandir, Navtanpuri Dham, Jamnagar, Gujarat, with the kind permission of Acharya Shri 108 Krishnamaniji Maharaj. He did prem-seva there till December 2000. He was given Sannyas-deeksha by Param Pujya Acharya Shri 108 Krishnamaniji Maharaj.
His main forte is Srimad Bhagavad Gita, which he taught in different perspectives to different groups as per their inclinations, in their respective languages. He taught Gita to the vidyarthis in Khijda Mandir, Jamnagar, as per Tartam vision, under the guidance of Acharya Shri 108 Krishnamaniji Maharaj. He spends most of his time in comparative study of the scriptures, based on Tartam vision.
He is at present associated with Vani Acharya Rachita Sakhi, in translating Param Pujya Guruji’s books into English. This work has been undertaken by her at the behest of Pujya Guruji, whose last wish was to spread this Divine Tartam Knowledge throughout the world in English through a website, for the benefit of the scattered Brahmasrishtis throughout the world in all castes, creeds, colors and genders. His deep yearning was to awaken these Brahmasrishtis, wherever they are, through these books. (Shri Prannathji had said, “पाछला साथ माटे”..).. We seek the good wishes of all friends, and the blessings of all elders)...
